Halton Symposium and Tradeshow Recap

The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB) is thrilled to announce the success of the Halton Symposium and Tradeshow, held on June 26 at the Oakville Conference Centre. This year was OMDREB’s first post-pandemic tradeshow, which focused on offering valuable knowledge and connections to help REALTORS® thrive in today’s challenging market.

Attendees enjoyed a day filled with insightful discussions, networking opportunities, and access to industry-leading vendors. The Symposium featured a variety of speakers including local government officials such as Sean O’Meara (Oakville), Wendy Chen (Milton), and Paul Sharman (Burlington), who participated in an interesting Town/City Panel. According to post-event survey results, the Town/City Panel was determined to be the most favoured part of the day as it generated a lot of interest in future community planning and developments. 

The knowledgeable Nik Nanos presented his findings of the OMDREB-commissioned June 2024 Housing Survey which provided detailed economic, and industry insights within the Halton region.

MP Pam Damoff provided community updates and elaborated on the evolving changes happening within the Oakville and Burlington areas. In the afternoon, a legal panel took place which consisted of Owen Duguid and Kaleigh Dryla, James Deep, and Vahn D’Amelio. This provided an excellent opportunity for attendees to ask specific legal questions and receive the clarifications they needed.

Exhibitors, local partners and sponsors had amazing displays throughout the tradeshow, which gathered much attention of the participants. These amazing exhibitors provided valuable education, discussions and connections with new and experienced real estate members.
