Education

Our Board places a high value on professional development for Members. Our goal is to ensure our Members are among the most knowledgeable and skilled in the real estate industry.

Our Professional Development Department offers everything from entry level real estate courses to special niche seminars that will help you carve out and master your target market.

Network / Volunteer

Board events offer many opportunities to network with fellow Members and industry partners. OMDREB hosts an annual golf tournament as well as our AGM and Christmas Luncheon, in addition to other events throughout the year.

Volunteer opportunities are another way to meet colleagues and see first hand how the industry evolves. Each year the Leadership Development Committee hosts a volunteer meet and greet. This event provides information on the volunteer opportunities that are available at the Board.

Membership

The Membership Department assists with membership/fee inquiries, dues payment, updating Member/Brokerage information and facilitating access to other MLS® Services in Ontario.

REALTORS® who join the Board receive a comprehensive Member orientation, which includes resource materials about the Board, OREA, CREA, RECO and Matrix™ training.

Public Relations / Marketing

The Board’s Communications department is responsible for the communication and marketing information for Members and the public.

Members receive news and information through a variety of platforms, including Matrix™ (MLS® Service), emails, the OMDREB website, meetings (Committee, Managing Brokers Council, Annual General Meeting) and social media which includes an OMDREB Members group.

OMDREB works in conjunction with OREA and CREA on a variety of public education and awareness campaigns to promote REALTORS® and organized real estate in Ontario and Canada.

President & Board

The President of the Board abides by an open door policy for all Members who would like the opportunity to express their concerns regarding matters of the Board.

Members may raise issues with their Broker who may bring them forward to the Managing Broker’s Council (MBC). The Chair of the MBC has a seat on the Board of Directors and feedback from Broker Council Members provides perspective and insight on aspects of the Board’s operation.

Executive Officer & Staff

The Executive Officer and staff are committed to providing excellent service to Members at all times.

OREA & CREA

As a member of OMDREB, you have the benefit of representation through the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) and the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA).

For 100 years, OREA has represented 96,000 real estate brokers and is one of Ontario’s largest trade associations. It provides many exclusive discounts for OREA members on fitness, travel, restaurants, clothing, entertainment and much more!

OREA is also a strong voice with our provincial government and works to promote a legislative and regulatory environment that is favourable to REALTORS® and the real estate industry.

The Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) is one of Canada’s largest single-industry associations. Their membership includes more than 160,000 real estate brokers, agents and salespeople working through 75 real estate boards and associations across Canada.

Registrants in any province who become members of organized real estate have an obligation to act in accordance with the REALTOR® Code.

CREA owns the MLS® and REALTOR® trademarks, which signify a high standard of service and identify members of CREA.

REALTORS Care® & President’s Charity

OMDREB Members are proud supporters of the Ontario and Canadian REALTORS Care® Foundation. One hundred per cent of all gifts to the Foundation go directly to supporting shelters across the province due to the generosity of the Ontario Real Estate Association. The Association covers all administrative costs of the Foundation.

In association with the Ontario REALTORS Care® Foundation, OMDREB’s President annually selects a charity for which the Board’s fundraising efforts will be dedicated through various events throughout the year.
