Milton, ON – July 16, 2026 – The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB) is congratulating the Town of Milton on surpassing its 2025 provincial housing target and earning $8.4 million through the Government of Ontario’s Building Faster Fund.
The Province recently announced that Milton exceeded its annual housing target by 28 per cent after breaking ground on nearly 2,700 new homes in 2025. As a result, the Town will receive funding to help support the infrastructure needed to accommodate continued growth.
“Milton’s success demonstrates what can be achieved when housing supply is made a priority,” said Heidi Noel, President of OMDREB. “Increasing the number and variety of homes available is essential to improving affordability, creating more housing choice, and ensuring our communities remain vibrant places to live, work and invest.”
As the professional association representing many REALTORS® across Oakville, Milton, and Halton Hills, OMDREB recognizes that increasing housing supply is one of the most effective ways to address long-term affordability challenges. The Board has consistently advocated for policies that support the construction of new homes while ensuring communities have the infrastructure required to accommodate growth.
In a letter sent to Mayor Gordon Krantz and Members of Milton Town Council, OMDREB commended the Town’s leadership in reducing barriers to housing development and supporting investments that enable new housing opportunities.
“Collaboration between municipal governments, the housing industry, and all levels of government is critical to delivering the homes our communities need,” Noel added. “We look forward to continuing to work alongside the Town of Milton to support practical housing solutions that expand homeownership opportunities and strengthen our community.”
OMDREB congratulates the Town of Milton on this significant achievement, and looks forward to continued collaboration in support of a healthy, sustainable housing market.
